Infrared Video Goggles

Skilled, accurate assessment is key to success in vestibular rehab. In order to perform a thorough assessment, you need the right tool for the job! Being able to observe nystagmus without visual fixation (the brain overrides the nystagmus to stabilize the eyes to focus on a target) is often the only way to observe nystagmus in the subacute and chronic stages.

Below are a few different companies that offer vestibular infrared goggles in no particular order. Some offer additional programs, such as an oculomotor module or vHIT for a deeper assessment, one or two cameras, etc. If you're just starting out, find a tool that is within your budget that will allow you to observe nystagmus with vision denied and to record videos so that you can review videos for a more thorough assessment and to sharpen your skills through practice.
